Onam is a Kerala festival commonly celebrated among the Keralites around the world. Kerala food is also culture-centric. The Sadhya is a famous Onam day special food that is served with a lot of curries and side dishes. Sadhya is also available in restaurants to enjoy delicious meals around Onam time and even on normal days.
Sadhya dishes include Sambar, Rasam, Moru curry/buttermilk curry, Kalan, Olan, Thoran, Erissery, Avial, Puli inji, Upperi/ banana chips, Ada pradhaman/rice kheer, paal payasam/milk kheer, moong/mung dal payasam/kheer, sarkara varatti/fried sweet banana, mango curry, pickle, pachadi/yogurt-based curry, Stir-fried veggies(long bean/elephant yam), parippu/dal curry, pappadum, kootu curry/channa and banana curry and what not.
